It's time for another show!! Auditions are next week for the melodrama in the park, titled She Was Only a Farmer's Daughter. Stop by the Lanesboro Community Center between 6pm and 8 on July 10 or 11. No preparation necessary.

She Was Only a Farmer’s Daughter, by Millard Crosby, is the story of farmer’s daughter Millie Spivens, who goes off to the big city for her education where she becomes the victim of the deep-eyed villain Mulberry Foxhall, the most despicable villain that ever trod the boards. She returns to the small farm town to work at an inn where she catches the attention of her high school friend, Osgood Smithers. Alas, Mulberry appears on the scene and makes life intolerable for our heroine. There are stolen jewels, wrongful accusations and a surprising twist before Millie and the hero, Osgood, do prevail in the end, and Mulberry Foxhall goes slinking off.

Performances will be at Sylvan Park in Lanesboro on August 25 and 26 at 4:00 p.m. For more information call director Sandy Webb at 467-2251.
